ME Dance Company

Professional Company

Professional Company

ME Dance Professional Company was founded in 2017 when Marcia choreographed Man in Suit.

Marcia began her professional dance company when she realised that a lot of talented dancers were leaving the region to train and then not returning.

The Black Country has a wealth of talented dancers, but there are limited professional opportunities for them.

Seeing this gap, Marcia began the company with the aim of establishing and promoting the region as a cultural and creative hub. Since 2017, the company has grown from a soloist to a core of professional dancers.

In 2023, ME Dance Company premiered new work 'Bella'...

During the creation of Bella, Marcia was interviewed by BBC Hereford and Worcester to speak about the process and the story we are trying to share. The video was shared on our Instagram which you can view here.

The work premiered in June 2023, and since then the dancers have performed at local libraries in partnership with Sandwell Archives, providing free events to the community.

What are we up to now?

In 2024, ME DANCE COMPANY debuted a brand new festival, and new work called ‘The Junction’, celebrating the history of Spaghetti Junction through live dance, music and art.

Marcia and company dancer Emily, were interviewed by ITV Central to discuss the ideas and process behind the festival…watch here!
